Position: Banksman

My client is a leading regional contractor committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. They are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Banksman to join their team on site at Walsall.

As a Banksman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of site activities, particularly in managing the movement of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and guide vehicles, plant, and machinery on-site to ensure safe operations.
Ensure clear communication between machine operators, drivers, and other site workers.
Conduct daily checks to ensure safety procedures and equipment are in place.
Assist with the unloading and loading of materials as necessary.
Ensure compliance with site-specific safety policies and relevant health & safety legislation.
Monitor and control site access, ensuring that only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
Work with site managers to develop and implement safety procedures and protocols.
Maintain a high level of awareness of the working environment and potential hazards.

Requirements:

Valid Banksman certificate (or equivalent qualification).
Previous experience as a Banksman in a construction or similar environment is essential.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Physically fit and able to perform the duties of the role.
A proactive approach to ensuring a safe working environment.
