Job Title: Senior Estimator
Location: UK (Office/Site-Based - Flexibility Available)
Salary: £60k to £70k plus car allowance and bonus

The Role:
As a Senior Estimator, you'll be responsible for the preparation and submission of high-quality tenders and proposals. You'll play a key part in managing customer expectations, coordinating across teams, and ensuring bids are both competitive and commercially sound.
This role requires an understanding of the energy sector, previous experience working on HV or electrical projects is desirable, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work efficiently across multiple projects and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support negotiation of contracts at the tender stage to drive customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain an accurate customer database with relevant contact details.
- Prepare and submit high-quality tenders and proposals, ensuring compliance with customer deadlines and internal standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information needed for accurate costings and proposals.
- Provide regular tendering reports, tracking progress against targets and KPIs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness.
- Review tender documentation, assess risks, and support technical responses.
- Develop detailed cost-loaded, outage-driven programmes.
- Maintain and update a cost library for plant and equipment.
- Present tenders at approval meetings and formally manage the handover process to operations.
- Attend pre-tender site meetings and contribute to lessons-learned meetings after project completion.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Accuracy and timeliness of tender submissions.
- Efficiency of the tendering process (cost, time management).
- Achievement of business revenue growth targets.
- Increase in successful tenders and contract win rates.
- Customer satisfaction with the tendering process.
- Compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field - or significant relevant experience in a similar role.
Experience:
- Proven track record in tendering and estimating, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience in managing multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Proficient in Microsoft Project and tendering software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of electricity network infrastructure and industry regulations is desirable.
