We are working on behalf of one of Scotland's largest and most respected privately owned civil engineering contractors. With a legacy of delivering major infrastructure projects across the country, our client is renowned for its commitment to safety, quality, and innovation in the civil engineering sector. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of complex, high-value projects.
Role Overview
As a Sub Agent, you will play a critical role in managing on-site operations and ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure works. Working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager, you'll help oversee project planning, technical compliance, and site coordination across major civil engineering schemes, such as roads, bridges, marine works, and energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Lead site teams in daily construction operations, ensuring high standards of HSEQ compliance.
Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth workflow.
Produce and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
Interpret technical drawings and specifications; ensure all work is delivered in line with design and contract requirements.
Contribute to short-term programming and resource planning.
Assist with commercial reporting, cost tracking, and material procurement.
Support quality assurance and audit processes on-site.
Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 4 years' experience in civil engineering, ideally on large infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
Strong knowledge of industry regulations and site practices.
Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications.
SMSTS, CSCS (Gold or above), and First Aid certification.
NEC contract experience advantageous.
Full UK driving licence.
